Two weeks ago I shared pictures of two sets of vintage plates I have recently acquired. You can read that post and see the pictures here. I am delighted to have some new toys to play with and new tools in my tablescaping tool kit.
I also recently purchased a few new things to spark my creativity and dress up my tables. Here are the new table tools (toys) I have. My fingers are just itching to set some tables. Just as with the vintage plates, I need your help. Please leave suggestions in comments; I need all your creativity!

Martillo Crème Brulee
I have been eyeing the Marillo Crème Brulee plates at Pier 1 for a couple of years now. I bought the mugs last year to use at a Parade of Tables at my church. I did not need the dinner plates at the time, but they have been on my mind for over a year and a half. When Pier 1 had a sale, I jumped on the opportunity to add the dinner plates to my collection. I love the cream color and the slight texture to the plates as well as the antiquing around the center section. I think the simplicity and the color of this pattern will be very versatile
I first saw the Verona pattern in a Pier 1 flyer. Honestly, the pattern made my mouth water. I knew then I was heading down the path toward Verona ownership. Sure enough, sale time came around and I collected the dinner plates. I did not buy the mugs, intending to use the Martillo mugs since the base color of both patterns is the same.
I see this with a centerpiece of pears, figs, and pomegranates. Doesn’t that thought alone make your mouth water? I also picked up the Farmhouse Plaid napkins which are beautiful with Verona.
Other Table Toys
Here are the Farmhouse Plaid napkins I bought. Aren’t they perfect with the Verona pattern? The Pottery Barn Natura napkin rings are a perfect match for the woven chargers I found at an antique store. They look like they may be Pottery Barn chargers, but I have no way to know for sure.
I also grabbed eight blue Queen Anne napkin rings at Pier 1 when they went on sale. They are beautiful, but those little blue flowers want to fall off everywhere! I’ll have to store them separately from my other napkin rings. It seems they are no longer available online.
My final purchase was the Wallace Napoleon Bee flatware. Don’t those little bees just make you want to eat honey?
What Do You Think?
Those are my new toys. What possibilities do you see with them? I am waiting to hear from you.
